Begin by looking around the edges before choosing a direction. Museums beside the square have their own access arrangements, so a square visit should not depend on assuming their galleries are open.

Beside Skanderbeg Square
Look for the painted trees, bridges and waterfalls that distinguish the mosque’s decoration. The small scale offers a different encounter with the square from the monumental buildings around it. Respect worship and ask about visitor access before entering; an exterior look and an interior visit are different plans, and photographs should follow the site’s guidance.

Southern Tirana
The lake-side park provides a change of pace from the centre’s monuments. Walking paths, cyclists and people taking a break make the visit about ordinary city life rather than another museum collection. Choose a short section of shore to begin with and leave time for a pause; there is no need to turn the entire park into a compulsory circuit.

A note before you go. Keep Skanderbeg Square and the mosque together, with the park as a separate outing south of the centre. Confirm that a mosque visit fits around worship before building the morning around its interior. Use current local route information for the journey to the lake, and leave space for food, shade and pauses rather than filling every hour.
