A note before you go. Treat Guilin Flying Tigers Heritage Park as a separate regional outing from Guilin. Arrange the outward and return journey before adding another visit on that day. The suggested days are an editable grouping, not a timed tour. Visit allowances exclude transfers, meals and queues; confirm the exact entrance and current visiting arrangements for Daxu Old Town before setting off.

BEFORE YOU SET OFF

A more practical kind of plan.

Getting your bearings

Getting a local map from a tourist guide or shop for ¥5 is a good idea. This will show the location of most of the sights as well as details of bus routes. Buses are an ideal way to get around Guilin on a budget. Many city parks and river spots can be accessed easily by bus. All the buses starting with 5# are free. A useful one is bus 58 which runs from the train station (and bus station) to many of the attractions. Taxis are also inexpensive and easily hailed within the city.

Build a route that makes sense

Official Residence of Li Zongren and Seven Star Park are about 1.8 km apart in a straight line. Use the route link to compare the actual streets or transport connections before putting both in the same morning; the measurement is not a walking distance or a transfer estimate.
