Central plaza
The church stands beside the central plaza and is a place of living religious practice. Slow down at the approach and follow local guidance about entering and photography. A visit is most rewarding when the church is considered together with the surrounding market, while leaving room for worshippers rather than treating ceremonies as a performance.

The collection includes archaeological objects from the Guatemalan highlands, with jade jewellery, ceramics and other material that gives context to the market town.
