Cathédrale Notre Dame de la Salette

Begin with the exterior and its place in the surrounding streets, then ask whether an interior visit is appropriate around worship. It is a functioning religious institution, so the visit should follow its hosts' arrangements rather than assume that a sightseeing timetable overrides parish life.

Lac Andraikiba

Regional excursion: about 16 km west of Antsirabe

Lac Tritriva

Tritriva's crater setting provides a strong contrast with the more open lake landscape at Andraikiba. Arrange a permitted rim or shore visit through local guidance and look at the relationship between the water, steep sides and surrounding highlands. Its local legends can add meaning when presented as oral tradition, with the visible landform remaining the focus of the walk.

Tritriva is about sixteen kilometres west of Antsirabe, while Andraikiba is another nearby regional lake with a separate approach.
