Old government camp, Francistown

Regional excursion: Masunga–Kalamati road, northeast Botswana
The stone walls and enclosures at Domboshaba are a regional archaeological excursion from Francistown, not an urban ruin. Look at the wall construction and the surviving arrangement of domestic spaces before trying to imagine the whole settlement. Stay with the designated visitor route, and let the site's physical evidence guide questions about the society that built it.

Outside Francistown
Tachila adds a conservation visit close to the city, with game drives, birdwatching and walking among the activities identified by Botswana's government tourism reporting. Arrange an appropriate visit with the reserve and use the outing to notice habitat as well as animals. A short stay is an introduction to the landscape, with sightings depending on the day.
