The ceremonial buildings and expansive park show a different side of imperial Beijing from the palace. Decide whether you want a focused architecture visit or a longer park walk before choosing your ticket. Leave time for the distances inside, and check access to individual monuments separately.

Southern Central Axis
Use Qianmen as a place to slow down after the Temple of Heaven, with traditional shopfronts and long-established food businesses along a historic commercial street. Compare menus and choose somewhere to sit rather than relying on an unplanned snack crawl. Take transport between the two areas if needed.
