The Exploration Museum
The Exploration Museum is dedicated to the history of human exploration, from the early explorers to the exploration of space. The main exhibition room features photographs and artifacts from the Apollo Astronaut Training near Húsavík in 1965 and 1967. Other exhibition rooms feature the history of Viking exploration, Arctic explorers and a timeline of exploration history.

Húsavík Harbour
The working harbour is a useful place to orient yourself in Húsavík before choosing an activity on the water. A harbour walk and a whale-watching departure are different experiences: the latter needs a booking, appropriate conditions and extra time. Keep the Exploration Museum as an alternative when a boat outing does not fit your plans.
