THE SHORTLIST

A few places worth your time.

01Culture · DAY 1 IDEA

Palais-Royal / Louvre

Louvre Museum

Choose a small route through the Louvre before setting out: a few works seen carefully are more memorable than exhausted laps of the whole building. Use the museum's own visit guidance to locate entrances and galleries. Protect a proper break after the collection rather than adding another museum immediately.

Louvre / Concorde

Tuileries Garden

The Tuileries offer a welcome change of scale after the Louvre, replacing galleries with trees, basins and space to sit. Follow the main axis, then wander into a quieter side section. Treat a chair and a pause as part of the visit, especially after a long museum morning.

Invalides

Musée Rodin

Rodin's sculptures make this a satisfying stop for visitors who prefer close looking to a huge museum circuit. Pick a few works, including The Thinker, and consider how their forms change as you move around them. Check the current visitor information for the spaces and displays available.

Champ de Mars

Eiffel Tower

Decide whether you want to go up the tower or enjoy it from ground level before planning the rest of your afternoon. An ascent needs its own time allowance and the right ticket. From below, spend a moment following the iron structure upward rather than immediately moving to the next viewpoint.

A note before you go. Build each day around one reservation, then leave the other stop flexible. Recheck museum closures and tower access before buying tickets for a particular date.
